Oh yes we did.
Did you watch the Grammy’s last night? Did you happen to catch nominee and performer Mary Lambert on the red carpet, or on stage with Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, Madonna, and Queen Latifah?
She was wearing custom Hourglass shoes!
Mary has worn our shoes on a number of occasions, but this one was especially cool because 1) it’s THE GRAMMYS, and 2) we partnered with Project Runway finalist Helen Castillo, who designed the stunning gowns for both Mary’s red carpet and performance looks.
A lot of work went into Mary’s effortlessly gorgeous Grammy looks!
She came to our new showroom a couple of weeks before the big day with her mom (who is lovely and also wore Hourglass shoes–the Smoke and Mirrors design by artist Jeanie Lewis–as Mary’s date to the Grammys), showed us fabric samples from her gowns, and brainstormed design ideas.
Helen Castillo sent us a mood board and lots of pictures of the gowns as she was working on them. From that info and talking with Mary, we were able to come up with some pretty perfect shoes for the occasion!
For the red carpet look, we painted swirls of shimmery pewter on an asymmetrical antique gold background, and dotted each swirl with a small, sparkly gem. The design on the heels matched the lace pattern on the bodice of her dress.
Here’s how they turned out:
Mary’s red carpet look has already turned up on a number of Best Dressed lists, and here’s why:

Also, we made the Entertainment Tonight Shoe Cam!
For Mary’s truly incredible Grammy performance, Hourglass artist Hillary created absolutely stunning, glittery silver shoes that featured an intricate and delicate feather pattern. She also dotted the feathers with tiny gems for a bit of extra wow.
Here’s what they looked like:
Mary wore a floor-length, beaded red dress, so the shoes were a bit hidden. We’re working on more pictures, but until then:
Huge, HUGE congrats to Mary. We can’t think of anyone more deserving of such a magical Cinderella story, and we can’t wait to work with her again.
