She’s not only beautiful and supremely talented, she’s also cool, funny, positive and real in a way you don’t often encounter in the dog-eat-dog world of up-and-coming celebrity. She speaks and writes regularly and eloquently about loving and respecting her body as it is, and, as an out lesbian, she continues (through her lyrics, writing, and interviews) to help to normalize being gay in broader society, and provide support for people struggling with their own sexuality.
She also wears Hourglass shoes (she’s taken to calling us her “shoe people”, in fact):
–The first pair we created were for the MTV Video Music Awards, where she performed with Macklemore and Jennifer Hudson. Here she is talking about her shoes to MTV on the red carpet.
Mary with her shoes after the VMAs.
–The next time she appeared in Hourglass was at a GLAAD event in New York, where she was a featured performer. She wore a beautiful Cabiria dress, and we created matching shoes.
Watch for our shoes in an upcoming Cabiria photoshoot!
–She also packed a few pairs of Hourglass shoes when she went on tour…
See the Walk the Line flats peeking out from under the belts?
Badgley Mischka and Force Majeure? Wow. SO wish we could have seen the finished look!
–Anyway! The most recent Mary-in-Hourglass sighting was a really great Billboard Magazine performance and photoshoot, where her Force Majeure heels made an appearance. She blogged about it here.
Up next? Hmm. Well, Mary WAS just nominated for a Grammy…
