Hillary’s got (iss)shoes

We have another addition to our “We’ve got (iss)shoes” page!

If you missed the post explaining how this works, here’s the gist: participating Hourglass artists choose a non-profit close to their heart and design a pair of shoes around the cause. Then they pick the dollar amount they wish to donate to that cause out of their own commission from each shoe sold, and Hourglass matches that amount. The full total going to the non-profit will be clearly stated on each order page.

Hillary’s (iss)shoe is the It Gets Better Project. She’s agreed to donate $5 of her own commission from the sale of each shoe, so we’re matching that and the It Gets Better Project is getting $10 per pair sold.

I’ll let Hillary tell you why she chose to donate to this particular cause:

“This shoe was designed in support of the It Gets Better Project, a worldwide program focused on fighting LGBT bullying and supporting children/teens who are victims of harassment and abuse due to their sexuality. The design itself is an equal sign patterned across the surface of the shoe in lively Autumn colors.

LGBT rights have always been an issue very close to my heart. I have been fortunate enough to know so many beautiful people (some good friends, some family) who have struggled immensely in their lives because of their homosexuality. I am very happy to be using my love as an artist to support a cause that encourages equality and compassion as this one does.
Here’s to hoping future generations receive more kindness and understanding.”
Ten dollars from each pair of Getting Better All the Time shoes sold will go directly to the It Gets Better Project.
