We’re rolling out a brand new section on our website and we couldn’t be more excited about it!
We’re calling the section “We’ve got (iss)shoes”. Cute, right? Here’s how it works: each participating Hourglass artist will choose a cause close to their heart, and then design a pair of shoes to represent that cause. Part of the proceeds from each sale of those shoes will be donated to the artist’s non-profit of choice.
Now, I just want to clarify here that when I say “part of the proceeds”, I don’t mean it vaguely. I don’t know about you, but it always makes me a little nervous when companies don’t disclose the amount they’re giving to charity. This is how we’re doing it: each artist will actually pick the amount she wants to donate out of her personal commission from each sale. Then Hourglass will match that amount. The full total going to the non-profit will be clearly listed on each order page.
As if you needed an excuse to buy hot shoes.
First up: Rachel!
Rachel’s (iss)shoe is animal rescue.
We’ll let her tell you why she chose to donate to Pawsitive Alliance:
“The only one who is allowed in the studio with me while I paint is my cat, Chowder. He is a rescue Siamese mix, and is the inspiration behind this shoe.
Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I am so excited to be teaming with Pawsitive Alliance as a way to give back to the little creatures who have given me so much happiness throughout the years.
It is my hope that the ‘Cat Scratch Fever’ shoe can be a unique way for animal lovers to celebrate our furry friends, and also bring awareness and support to an organization that is working every day in our community to help animals in need. ”
It doesn’t get cuter than this. Rachel’s daughter and their cat, Chowder.
Ten dollars from each pair of Cat Scratch Fever shoes sold will go directly to Pawsitive Alliance.
