Welcome to Hourglass Footwear!

First, let me introduce us: we’re ten talented Seattle-area artists who hand-paint shoes and adore what we do. So much so that we decided to do it for a living.

My name is Kira. My business parter, Lisa, and I co-founded this company because we love the combination of art and footwear. Who doesn’t want to wear gorgeous, one-of-a-kind shoes?

There’s a lot of mass-produced, cookie cutter fashion available out there, but we think our customers have more personality than “cookie cutter” allows, and we want to help them flaunt it.

We’ve worked with this group of artists before, and teaming up with them again on this project was a no-brainer. Aside from the insane level of talent they possess, they’re also the most reliable, cool, funny, amazing group of women we could hope to call coworkers. You’ll get to know them through their work, and we’ll introduce them in more detail right here on the blog in the coming months. We know you’ll love them too!

So where are we in this process? Well, right now Lisa’s working on our website, I’m putting together a marketing and PR plan, and the artists are developing their collections. That’s the easy answer, though, since at any given time there are a million other details to sort out!

On July 9th, we will launch our website, which will feature hand-painted designs available on clogs, flats, mid-heels and stilettos. Things are happening! There is magic in the air!

We’re running a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds necessary to make all of this magic happen. Our goal is $10,000 and as of just a couple of hours ago, we made it past the 50 percent funded mark!

Please visit our Kickstarter page and pledge if you’re able. We’re offering tons of great rewards as incentives, and your support means the world to us.

Stick around! Come back here often for updates, like us on Facebook, tell your friends about us. And mark your calendars for July 9th…we’re so excited to show you what we can do!
